Jones on Leadership |
|
Why was Moses able to lead the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt and thorough the years in wilderness? Why was Ghengis Khan able to unite a disparate people and then with them conquer most of Asia? Why was Adolf Hitler able to take the German with him on the path to World War 2? Why do small groups of people in many circumstances prevail against overwhelming odds in sport, enterprise and war.

Leadership in culturally engrained |

Leadership is morally agnostic — it is not good or bad based on the ‘goodness’ or otherwise of the outcome. Napoleon and Arthur Wellesley were great leaders on 2 different sides in the peninsular campaign whose men would follow them in to the ‘Jaws of Hell’. Which of them was right and who was righteous was simply a matter of political viewpoint.
